Why participate in clinical research?

Clinical trials are research studies that test new ways to prevent, diagnose, or treat medical conditions. They help ensure that new drugs, vaccines, treatments, and devices are safe and effective before they are made available to the public. Without clinical trials, we wouldn't have the life-saving treatments that we have today.

To sign up for a clinical trial, you first need to find a clinical trial. You can do so by speaking with your doctor or searching for trials on CTV. Once you identify a clinical trial, you or your care team must contact the location, or research site, where you want to participate. If you are unable to find a location or contact at the location, you may try contacting the trial sponsor. Once in touch, your healthcare team will assess your eligibility, collect your informed consent, and answer any question you might have about the trial.
