About

Given the limited evidence in the literature regarding the effect of perceived social support on life satisfaction and social participation in adults with stroke, this study aimed to investigate the effect of perceived social support on these outcomes.

Inclusion criteria

  • All participants (both stroke and healthy groups) were aged 18 to 75, scored 24 or above on the SMMT or MMSE-E, were proficient in Turkish, and participated voluntarily. Stroke-specific criteria included a diagnosis at least 3 months prior with a certified disability rate of at least 20 percent.

Exclusion criteria

  • Participants were excluded if they were unwilling to participate or had major neurological, orthopedic, or rheumatic disorders affecting the musculoskeletal system. For the stroke group, additional exclusion criteria included a history of multiple strokes and the presence of bilateral hemiplegia.
